Meet daddy for a picnic in the park and a fishing hour while we waited for Duncan to be ready for pick up. (Too far to drive home and back again) After an unsuccessful fishing attempt, we walked around the park and took a trail that led to a bridge over Pine Creek. The boys saw a smaller bridge in the distance with a dry creek bed underneath and were very excited to go to that bridge. Once we arrived at the bridge we understood.
"Walk half way over the bridge and then stop!"
I complied... as the boys ran under the bridge excitedly. Then they reenacted the story of the Billy Goats Gruff... They were the trolls. Daddy arrived with perfect timing to be the biggest billy goat gruff.. "Just try to stop me from crossing this bridge"... however a gentleman walking his two dogs was coming up behind him and shaking his head he muttered... 'no one is trying to stop you man.'
Picked up Duncan and headed home for long awaited Root Beer Floats. (We had made the ice cream in the machine earlier in the day.)
Caught a minute or two of the smoky hazed sunset before ending our day.
