Miles and Whittaker had surgery to repair faulty ears.. now they can hear! Well Miles has definitely improved... follow up appointment with hearing testing in July will confirm.. Whittaker we don't know yet. But they look good and Miles complains now that everything and everyone is SOO loud!
I hadn't realized that we'd made such a surgical selfie tradition, but apparently we have.

Obviously we are not strangers to surgeries and medical testing and procedures. Twice now we've realized that while we know what is going on we haven't been clear with everyone else. When Miles was 5 he asked what everyone was talking about when they pointed to his head. We had to tell him about his surgeries.. of course we first convinced him he was abducted by aliens. Can't make it easy on him!
So, when Emerson was talking to people.. and he does.. he talks to everyone and anyone.. all the time.. wherever we are. He was telling, "My brother Whittaker can't run errands with us now because he went to the doctor and they tried to cut his ears off and now he can't run and jump anymore. But he's good at lego and watching movies."
Perhaps we should explain to Emerson what really happened. ... nah!
Duncan acquired corrective metal braces on his teeth.
Sarah graduated from High School and Seminary. (and she completely grew up. ahhhh )
Patrick shaved his beard... it's a family feud whether it's better or not. (An even split 4 -4)
Sarah got her driver's license.. finally! She's been practicing for a LONG time.
Miles is next!! only a few weeks away.
Caleb bought a new car. He and Sarah are competing for Emerson's 'coolness' approval. Emerson is being swayed by the flames on Caleb's car...
I repainted the front door.
Sarah bought a new car.. learned to repair her new car.. (new horn, antennae, rear windshield sprayer, fuses...)
Now she's off to a new job interview. I will content myself to look over young photos of her and relive childhood that way. These are her school years.
Lochinvar have entered our lives. (no photos ... YET)
Miles donated blood for the first of what he assures us will be many more times!
Through out it all, Emerson remained everyone's favourite, adorable little ray, of extremely talkative and singing, sunshine.
