Long before I blogged... there was a time....  things happened.

I even have photographic proof of it.

It's time to drag them out of archives and make them real... because if there is a photo and it gets blogged with a few words here and there... it really happened.

One of such things was:

  • Caleb used to be little.
  • Patrick used to have dark hair
  • We made a trip to Canada... with only one child.
  • Photos used to be a little grainier
  • Patrick used to wear sweats in public... until I put a stop to it!
  • I used to bowl with style.. (okay it wasn't graceful style... it may be my own style)

What better than a bowling throw to bring back Throwback Thursdays!!

whew, another preserved.

Bowling is...

ahhh... Bowling.  It's such a ... well it's quite... um.. okay so it's something we work on.
Every time we go...
once a year or so.

We know it's no fashion statement... the shoes alone bring that to a screeching halt!
Selecting the ball is important.  Often by the end of the game we've decided on the correct one.  This time was no exception.  Miles especially struggled.  A heavy enough ball to satisfy him, with holes large enough that his thumb didn't become stuck.

My personal favourite, is seeing the expert attempts at good bowling form.

As delightful as the expert form is to observe, the wide range of follow through or ... the waiting period after the release of the ball, is so varied and amusing.

This reaction is priceless.
Obviously the outcome was unexpected.
or.. perhaps it's the discovery, only two minutes before the end of the game, that having bumpers along with the ball release contraption had solid high scoring benefits!

At the neighbouring 'mature' table... the incessant review of each attempt with unsolicited advice and tips, was as amusing as the game itself...

well obviously, to the eye rolling crowd... it wasn't perhaps amusing at the time.

Obviously..scores only tell a small portion of the game.
Especially since... I should have taken a photo of the scoreboard from the first game.  It had definitively different results!

Three cheers for awesome monikers!

And.. 'la piece de la resistance'...  it's all for fun.
