A delightful story book gem from my youth. I found it when I was packing up to move and tucked away in 'safe' place. But I've learned that my memory isn't what it used to be so I texted myself where the safe place was and scheduled the text to arrive after I had moved in and would 'definitely' be settled in and prepared to enjoy it. Plus it would coincide with Jill's birthday, and it was she who read it to me as a child to instill such a love for it's whimsical delight. As I thought about it and turned the aging and tattered pages (which I must admit were coloured on by a not so artistic young hand), I wondered if I could find another not so tattered copy. This is what I discovered.
That was a bit too much for me. Plus, they don't even have an available copy.
It was written the year I was born. I will just have to content myself with preserving its' memory in retelling it.
This is the delightful tale of the kitties. Filled with the little known literary element of 'Zeugma's'. "When the application of one word to 2 others in different senses or to 2 others of which it semantically suits only one, so as to create a striking effect."
Perhaps subconsciously this is why I was so delighted to have each of my children be born on a different day of the week... hopefully Miles won't feel the need to leave in a 'huff and a taxi'.
