Party On!

I have learned that if I have plenty of snacks, some lively music and a cupboard full of games.... these boys will come... and a party will ensue.

On this particular day... my own children weren't even at home when the party began.  They did find it amusing to come home to find a party going on.

Benign Babbling!

At the last regular dental check up a strange growth was spotted on the x-ray.  We were then sent to a specialist who determined that she had a tumorous growth below one of her rear molars between the root and her jaw bone.  The best chance for complete removal of the growth was to remove the molar and the growth together.

While in her mouth and removing things they also removed her four wisdom teeth.  It seemed 'wise' at the time.

(I promised not to post the video of her loopiness as the anesthesia wore off....  but..... it's worth mentioning that the subconcious that was revealed when she was otherwise incapacitated was enormously hilarious.  She was convinced that aliens were kidnapping her friend (it was just the dad coming to pick her up).  She also insisted that Miles sing her a song, but each song he started she cut him off and gave him reasons that it was the wrong song... 'it's not my birthday', 'Christmas is over', 'You aren't singing the right words', 'that's too long a song', finally she told him he was choosing bad songs on purpose just to be annoying.

Patrick and I were discussing the post surgical notes regarding her food and making out a shopping list for him to pick up and she yelled at us, 'I can hear you plotting to poison me!  So, I know not to touch your food!  HA!!!'

She also got ahold of her phone and was texting all her friends about the aliens and the alleged poisoning and Miles horrible attempts to serenade her and accusing Emerson of turning the cats against her.... We probably should have been more compassionate but we just laughed at everything and tried to text her friends that she was loopy and to ignore her texts... of course most of them just hammed it up right back at her.  One in particular convinced her that he actually was an alien and was the mastermind behind the kidnapping.  She burst into tears.

On one hand it was nice that it only lasted about an hour... on the other hand.... hee hee hee

I Double Dog Dare You!!

Just found this post from over a year ago...   Sad thing is... it could just have easily been from yesterday.

Ahhh, the return of summertime and long lazy days...

Reality.. the return of full time extra kids, long exhausting days that fly by before you blink, incessant squabbles over anything, nothing and everything and fantastic moments from the kids that make your sides ache from so much laughter.

The most recent one came in the form of a 'double dog dare!'

It came to our attention on Sunday evening.  The kids had a case of the cooped up all day sillies and we decided to send them outside to run around until bedtime.  As Caleb came up to be the babysitter outside and monitor the racing games, he mentioned that it was good timing since we wouldn't have liked what was going on downstairs.  "I'm not sure exactly what was going on, but the little boys were all getting or giving wedgies."  he said as he headed outside.

Grandma and I, who were sitting at the table as always spending every possible moment pouring over genealogical archives, turned with wide eyes and dropped jaws.

Ummmm...

We summoned inside the first victim.

Duncan's story.
Yes I gave Derek a wedgie but only cause Cooper double dog dared me to.

Cooper's story.
I don't know why Duncan gave me a wedgie.  Oh... Ok.. I told him to give me a wedgie.

Derek's story.
We all gave wedgies.  Can I go now?

I'm not sure if getting to the bottom of things is always necessary.

*Sigh* Raising boys!

Turtle Racing

You weren't kidding about slow pace.

Nice turtle..

Hey, looks fun.  room for two?

I'm on top of the .... turtle?

Emerson, I hate to break it to you, but I don't think we're moving.

Whoa... Turtle Surfing!  Who knew turtle statues could be so fun.

I still believe in you Mr. Turtle.

Whittaker wait!!  Come back, I'm sure it just moved.

I've heard that patience is a virtue... but ignorance is also bliss.
