Recapping April 2019

Our visit to the retirement center with the little boys.  Emerson has made a friend and he seeks her out each time.  This visit, they held hands and then he helped walk her back to her room.

Solidarity Now!
(Jim grew and maintains a permanent solidarity mask)

The group chat that kept growing and was such a heartwarming waiting room for Grandma's hospital hall stay.

School picture day

Is it Spring yet?

Surprise!  It's Caleb

Hanging around.. still indoors, where it isn't freezing or muddy.

A sleepover.  A huge tent, Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Fun for all!

In a People house

Easter at the ranch.

A whirlwind trip to Utah. Visits with Grandma, siblings and cousins.  Graduations, big dinners, and late night fun on the pin ball machine.  Then all too soon, farewells and we stocked up for the trek back to Wyoming.

We left sunny Utah and shorts wearing days behind... for

Welcome home snow.  I unloaded groceries and supplies for 2 hours and then drank 103 cups of hot cocoa.

In a people house

I'm living a Dr. Seussian life.

We awoke this morning and were greeted on the front porch by a gift from the cat.
A little field mouse.
He did not speak.. or squeak.
Thankfully.

However, while Miles was home alone later in the day, he said he heard some tweeting sounds and then quite a racket.  It was coming from....

Inside the chimney pipe.

Sure enough.. a bird had flown into the chimney, swept it clean with all its thrashing and died an heroic asphyxiation death.

My live version of, "In a People House", ends quite differently than Dr. Seuss's version.
Mine likely wouldn't be a children's bestseller.....

Springtime delights

Spring footwear.. all the rage in fashion.
Anything else just .....gets sucked off your foot and lost in the deep mudholes.

Years of training at beaches creating trenches for the water to flow around carefully constructed castles, pales to what I can do driving out of the driveway in 4-wheel drive.

See?!

I call it,

 'Spring art on metal shed'

Great skill is required to get the angle of the tires stuck in such a way as to splatter artistically on the shed....  the house...  the greenhouse....  and ....  Patrick...

Peaceful slumbering spring morning greetings.

Welcome to mid-April at the Barn and Nobles estate.
